AS Graphic Design - Final Pieces

Image
For my first year of Graphic Design I rebranded Innocent Smoothies. I created a logo, bottle cap designs, bottle labels and website designs. I decided to characterise the brand as fun, fresh and family-friendly, which, in turn, led me to create colourful, bold, fruit designs. The first page shows my final logo designs and the variations I used. For example, I used green, yellow, orange and pink shades for the logo designs as, when they're on the product, they correspond to the flavour of the smoothie! This second page is my final label and bottle cap designs. I created the fruit patterns by painting onto plain pieces of paper, using different painting techniques and materials to create different textures. I then cut out fruit shapes from the painted paper and collage them together. I then scanned the fruits in and created the patterns for the labels. I really love the colour combinations of the labels, for example the green of the pears and the pink of the strawberries su

A Level Photography - Final Pieces

Hello! It's me again... So much for once a week! I have just recently finished my A Level Photography course and I wanted to share my final pieces with you! To the right are the five final images I presented at my colleges Summer Show. This year my theme was Translucency and I wanted to experiment with that using translucent materials and objects. The foreground of these images are translucent materials: bubble wrap, plastic bags, bubbles made from washing up liquid, tracing paper and plastic sheets. I wanted to add another layer of translucency to my photographs. I created these images by laminating the original image and then submerg

Summer Business Proposition

As most people already know, I used to work at a delightful little jewellery shop, La Jewellery. It's situated in Ludlow, Shropshire, on Corve Street. I had the pleasure of working with jewellery designer Lisa Anne for two years who helped me to grow and see the world in a completely new way... I left La Jewellery to focus on my exams at the start of June, but I always pop in to see her smiley face! It was on that day that I showed her my final pieces for my Summer College Exhibition and she asked for them to be exhibited in the boutique! I was completely overwhelmed that someone could want to exhibit my work in their shop that I could not stop smiling! Lisa Anne's business proposition was that I could exhibit a selection of my photographs in her jewellery boutique if I designed a poster advertising it's whereabouts and a biography. It's now four days later and I have my poster design! (And a business / contact card design...) To the left is a screen grab o

Welcome to my blog!

Hello, it's me, Shannon. The one who posts too many photos on Instagram . I'm about to start blogging about my creative thoughts, ideas and moments and I intend for it to be pretty great. I have just completed my second year of college and I feel as though I need somewhere to jot all my creative thoughts down, as, I don't think 140 characters on Twitter is enough! Over the past few months my priorities have been exams, whereas now, I can explore and experiment with what the world has to offer me! I will aim to post at least once a week. I have many creative thoughts that wake me up in the middle of the night, so maybe you'll see some posts at 2 am, but we'll see! Expect to see a wide range of posts as I will share my creative experiences as well as my personal ones. I'm thinking of blogging about tutorials, current favourite photoshoots, art inspiration, and events and shops that I am currently loving. I hope you all enjoy my content; I'm excited to
